My name is Evan. I am a Los Angeles-based architecture and interior photographer who collaborates with designers, developers, and related professionals all across California to create memorable images that define their brand identity.
My visual approach is rooted in an ongoing career as a trumpeter and composer, and a life time of collaboration with artists across the disciplinary spectrum. I believe in the power of patience and deep observation, and aim to help others recognize the extraordinary in our ordinary lives through the lens of my camera (surely influenced by my obsession with neo-realist cinema and the work of Abbas Kiarostami).
Having grown up around my father, who is a civil engineer, I understand the immense difficulties, complexities, and efforts that are apart of every project. I consider each shoot to be a great privilege and responsibility as it is often the final step in culminating the completion of a project. I view this as a testament to the trust my clients have in me, which I recognize and do not take for granted.
Photographing architecture is, to me, as much an artistic and professional pursuit as it is a spiritual one. Every shoot is an opportunity for me to observe myself, the project, and the world around us a little more carefully and to come out of it a more enriched human being.
In my free time, you can catch me performing in one of the venues across town, perusing through the Criterion Channel, meditating, or attempting (and failing) to alleviate my chronic lower back pain (likely aggravated by my poor posture while editing your project photos).
